Stray cat caught on glue traps
#1
We have talked about glue traps and they are a cruel way to capture animals. A little cat was found in a back alley caught on a number of glue traps.
Its back legs were stuck together, there was one stuck to the abdomen and there were infected wounds. The cat had clearly tried to  get free and had probably ingested some of the glue.
The RSPCA  did what it could, but the injuries were terrible and the cat died.
It was the worse case they had ever seen of an animal caught on glue traps.

There will be cases of animals caught on glue traps as long as glue traps are sold. Who ever put the traps out was clearly not monitoring them. The cat had been stuck long enough for wounds to become infected. It would be good  if all sales of glue traps were stopped. That would be the ultimate goal. Until that happens maybe they need registration numbers so a person is held responsible for any animals caught on the trap they put out. In this case they could be charged with animal cruelty because they left a cat to suffer and die because of traps they put out. People might hesitate to use glue traps if they could see the results of the traps and if they were held responsible for the results.  Glue traps are too easy. People put them out and then forget about them. It should not be possible to do anything that can kill an animal and just forget about it.
