Rare White Ravin at BC Wildlife Center
#1
A Wildlife Center on Vancouver Island is currently caring for a rare white Raven. There have been white Ravens in the area for many years although sightings are rare. This one is not eating on its own and does need care, but it is hoped that he will survive. If all goes well he could be released to the wild.

I have been in the area they are taking about, but it is more than 20 years ago and there were no white Ravens then. The goats on the roof were there and they don't look any different.
It is odd to see a Raven that is white, but it is a beautiful bird. It would stand out in a flock of Black Ravens. I don't know why there seem to be white babies born to a lot of species. It can't be a survival advantage.  They seem to have trouble surviving.
Toronto has white squirrels.  They do okay, so I have heard. I have never seen one.
It would be interesting to see a white version of any species.

I do hope this beautiful white bird survives to fly free with the rest of its Raven friends.
