Grand Canyon Bison Cull
#1
Grand Canyon Parks officials have opened  up a bison hunt to thin the bison herd. Translated that means they have set up a trophy hunt in order to cull the bison herd. Environmental and Indigenous groups have called them out on this. If the numbers need to be reduced there are Indigenous groups that will take the Bison and rehome them on their land.

It has taken years to establish bison back in the areas where they used to live. Their numbers are not that great and there are still many areas that lack bison.
It makes sense to move them if their numbers are overwhelming an area.
What makes more sense is to allow the wolves to expand into the area. Bring in a predator and things will stabilize.
A few years ago one lone wolf made it to the Grand canyon and a hunter promptly shot her.

Why do some people think that killing is the only solution to everything.
Why can't we try ecological balance instead. It is working in Yellowstone National Park.
