Animals are getting caught in Football nets
#1
With all the enthusiasm over the Euro Cup, people have been putting up their own nets in their back gardens. They leave the nets up and sadly the RSPCA has had a lot of calls about animals trapped in the netting. Mostly it is foxes, hedgehogs and deer that are getting trapped. Some have been injured. A lot of birds have become trapped in the netting as well. It is not easy to free them safely. Some animals have even died.
Most animals become entangled at night so the RSPCA is recommending that  sports equipment be stored for the night where animals can not get at it.

It makes sense to safely store equipment. It will not get damaged or stolen. The fact that it protects animals from harm is an added bonus.
Getting up and finding a fox tangled in your net is something you don't want to see.  It is a little bit of trouble to put stuff away, but it is so worth it if it prevents harm to animals.
