PETA vs. Animal Experimenters 2021
#1
PETA has compiled its 2021 work against animal experimentation is one concise video. It is not pretty, but they got a lot done last year.

They have gotten some good results every year. I am sure that 2022 will be no different. Wouldn't it be wonderful if one day there was nothing to protest.
What if animals everywhere were treated properly. Maybe not this year, but maybe some day. Until then we need the work of groups like PETA fighting against animal cruelty.

Who would have thought in the early-mid 1800s that slavery would be abolished? Progress takes time. The video you cite is a good example of "progress made - and yet more to come".

There is a very good list of organisations which do/do not use animals in research here:
https://www.animalaid.org.uk/the-issues/...l-testing/

Note: Cancer Research Wales does not use animals in research, nor does it fund it. Conversely, Cancer Research UK *does* use animals.

The use of animals is now outdated and unnecessary in this modern day of cell culture research. Plus animal physiology is not identical to human, so any so called "results" from animal research are highly questionable, even dangerous, when applied to humans. The thalidomide disaster is one terrible example of what happened when they relied on animal testing for use in humans. I even knew one teacher who was disabled because his mother was given thalidomide when she was pregnant (based on so-called "safe" animal testing).

There is a good resource here for the promotion of medical research without animals:

That is a very long list of charities and their animal testing status. It is very useful information. I stopped donating to one of those groups a while ago and now I am very glad I did.   I never suspected their involvement in animal testing because it would make no sense for them to be doing animal testing.

Clearly we need to research our charitable donations very carefully.
When I look at the list I confused as to why some groups would do animal research. It could in no way help them with their cause.
Anything that would require a subjective answer from an animal would have data that is not useful.  Animal testing is expensive and give us a false sense of safety.
We know how well that has worked in the past.

I know that animal testing will eventually be phased out. I just don't understand why some groups are still clinging to it. They would get better results if they moved ahead with modern cruelty free methods.

The work of groups like PETA and Animal Free Research will eventually prevail. If we make choices about who we support we can help this happen sooner.
