Capybaras, anteaters etc. flee wildfires in Argentina
#1
Droughts in Argentina have contributed to danger and the spread of wildfires. There are usually sources of water that animals can flee to, but now things are dry and not all fleeing animals make it. Animals like capybaras, marsh deer, anteaters are fleeing, but they are getting trapped by the flames. Many die or are badly burned.  Many other species are dying or being injured in these fires.

Sadly the fires are part of the effects of climate change.  Quite simply, we have messed up the climate and the planet is on fire. The numbers of fires are increasing around the globe. So are the number of animals killed. We need to fight climate change now, with everything we have got. Every year more animals die in wildfires and it will continue until we do something.
