Big Cats from sanctuary in Ukraine driven to safety
#1
An animal sanctuary east of Kyiv has reached out to Poznan Zoo in Poland for help. A truck with 6 lions, 6 tigers, 2 Caracals and an African Wild Dog has made its way from Ukraine, through bombed out roads to reach the Polish border and made its way to Poznan Zoo. All the animals made it safely, though they do look tired.
When they have had some rest, some of them will continue on to a sanctuary in Belgian.

It is good to know that vulnerable animals are being removed from the war zone. This fight has nothing to do with them. It would be so unfair for sanctuary animals to be injured or killed because of the actions of the humans around them. It must have been a frightening trip. There must have been times when it looked like they wouldn't make it.  It would be good if the cats can be settled into a new sanctuary, especially the 17 year old tiger. At her age she should be quietly resting and enjoying life. Hopefully any other animals in the war zone can be brought to safety.
