Polish volunteers crossing the border to rescue Ukrainian pets.

Teams of volunteers are rushing across the border in to Ukraine to pick up animals and bring them to safety. If there is a person with the pet they will bring the person too. It is a life and death situation. Sometimes a place they visited is bombed the next day. The animals would not have survived if they had not been rescued.

It is amazing work they are doing. They are risking their personal safety and they know it. If they don't do it they know the risk to the animals is even greater.
In the midst of a terrible situation there are some incredibly selfless acts , acts of bravery and caring. We can only hope that all goes well and all involved are safe.

Can you imagine the dangers they are facing every time they rescue another group of animals. There are some amazing people out there and we can be proud of some of the things that humans do for animals.
