The owner of the rabbits recognized that he could no longer manage to care for his animals. He reached out to McKamey Shelter, his local animal shelter. The shelter called on the Humane Society of the United States for help.
When they went into the home they found the conditions unsanitary and unsuitable. The rabbits had various health conditions and some were pregnant. The rabbits are now being cared for and will eventually be adopted into suitable homes.

It is interesting that the owner of the rabbits asked for help. Perhaps he was not actually an animal hoarder. He was more someone who ran into difficulties and the care of his animals got to be too much for him. He clearly cared enough to get help while his rabbits could still be helped.
Hopefully they all find loving homes where they can get the attention they need and deserve.
