Two hikers out on a walk found a pile of ten young puppies in the woods. With them was their very hungry, worn out mother.
The hikers did the only thing they could do. They somehow carried mom and puppies to their car and rushed them all to a local animal shelter.
The shelter started giving them the care they needed. Mom has started to gain weight and the puppies are doing very well. The whole family is now living in a foster home where mom can safely care for her family. When the puppies are big enough they will be available for adoption into loving homes. Mom will find a loving home of her own.

Good thing the hikers stopped to check when they saw something furry in the woods. When they saw the puppies and their mom, they figured out how to rescue mom and her puppies and get them to safety. Without rescue, they might not have survived. They certainly would have missed a chance at loving homes.
Whatever plans the hikers might have had, what they did was much better. They gave a chance for life to a dog in need and her ten tiny puppies.
