Wildlife groups in Australia are reminding motorists to watch for wildlife on the roads as summer approaches. Animals are more active and more at risk. They advise slowing down to give wildlife a chance. If sadly an animal is hit, they ask people to check the pouch to see if there is a baby present. If there is a baby, call for help from a local rescue.
So many species are endangered and even one loss puts the species more at risk.

The watch for wildlife message is global. We all need to watch out for wildlife where we are. It is just more important in the summer because animals are more active. Right now where I am much of our wildlife is settling in for the big sleep. On the other side of the world things are wide awake.
I can't get used to the fact that there is a pouch that could have a baby. Although, we have Possums now that have migrated north and they have pouches.
We know some wildlife will be killed this summer, but hopefully cautious drivers can avoid a lot of accidents.
