8 Million Turkeys will be wasted this week
#1
Eating turkey became the symbol of celebrating Thanksgiving in the USA. It is considered the cultural norm and everyone goes along with it.
Much of that turkey will be wasted. Most people don't really like the dry factory farmed turkeys.
They are so overbred to be a certain way that they are not normal. They have brief miserable  lives that end horribly. Then they are wasted and mostly not eaten.

It is possible to look for new ways to celebrate Thanksgiving. A vegan meal is an option.
There are lots of tasty possibilities.

We probably should review the customs around all our cultural events.
We look at events in other countries and we are shocked.
The Ghadhimai slaughter comes to mind. Yet we slaughter 8 million turkeys and no one gives it a thought.
We need to do some thinking. What things do we do that need to be changed?
