Man chooses to carry his dog while his little son walks

On a very hot day in Mexico, a man was filmed carrying his dog while his young son walked beside him. This was posted online, but the reaction was surprising.
Instead of the usual frenzy of criticism, people actually thought about what he did and were understanding.

It was a very hot day and the sidewalk was burning hot. The child had shoes  the dog did not.
The child was dressed for warm weather, but the dog was wearing a fur coat.
The child seems fine with walking. The dog was probably in distress.

Is it possible the internet is growing up and acting more sensibly?
Probably not. Maybe it was just chance that the people who saw the picture also understand dogs.
The child was not in distress, but the dog probably was. Of course the guy did the right thing.
He wasn't going to risk his dog of his son.
