Sweden has begun a massive wolf cull. They will let whole families of wolves be killed. The goal is to cut the wolf population in half.
The wolf population of Sweden is already struggling. It is also against EU laws.

Sadly EU laws about wolves are being overlooked. As wolves are increasing in numbers there are more clashes with farmers.
Instead of taking other measures, countries are opting to kill the wolves. They have not learned the benefits to the environment of keystone creatures like wolves.
Wolves will be of more benefit in the long term because they will stabilize things. Killing them is not the answer. It has taken years to bring back wolves in some areas. It is sad to think that it will all have to be done over again. The wolves are needed. It is also a betrayal to establish wolves and let them increase and then turn around and kill them because they have increased. It doesn't make humans look very good.
