A Beaver cub was found o its own in the Edmonton, Alberta area. She is now living in a wildlife near Calgary.
I has been like raising a baby only more difficult. She is now like a toddler. She has bonded with two of the staff since beaver do need to form bonds.
She is learning to eat the right foods, but likes to eat her favorite things first. She swims now and is starting to build.
It is hoped that she can be released in the spring of 2026. It takes that long for a young beaver to be ready to leave her parents, even if they are foster parents.

I never realized how much goes into rescuing a beaver cub. That is a lot of work and dedication to prepare one beaver for a life in the wild.
I hope it all works out and we hear about her successful release. It would be wonderful to hear that she is building her own dam and lodge.
It is something to look forward to.
