500 lb bear hid under a house during California wildfires
#1
A California home owner returned after the fire evacuation and found a 500 lb bear under his house. There is a crawl space under the house and the bear crawled in. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife safely removed the bear and released him in the nearby Angeles National Forest. The crawl space has been bear proofed.

Animals will seek shelter anywhere they can in an emergency. That crawl space must have looked very good.
I am glad they were able to safely remove the bear and release him somewhere where he can live freely.
I am sure many home owners in the area will be bear proofing their crawl spaces in future, but it is a good thing the bear had a place to shelter during the fire emergency.
