The effect of wolves on Yellowstone Park
#1

I knew they had introduced wolves to the Yellowstone park area. I did not realise how much of a difference they would make for the ecosystem.
This is a really interesting example of how nature can regenerate and revitalize when the natural balance is restored.

Let us hope that they cherish and protect these wolves. They have clearly brought life to the park.

That was an amazing short video. Now we know the importance of wild wolves.

I was happy the wolves were reintroduced to the area(from Canada, I think), but I had no idea the impact they would have on the area.

It is like a rebirth on nature all because one key species returned.

Now I want to visit Yellowstone.

I would so love to meet wild wolves (Not in an intrusive way but at a distance that they were comfortable with of course) And to hear them howl!

I have a friend (a friend's daughter actually) and she told me about her meeting with a wild wolf once. She was in a forest in Germany and was sitting sketching, when she glimpsed movement behind her. A short distance away there was a wolf, looking at her. She didn't say anything to it or make any noise, but watched it for a moment. It cocked its head -just like a dog might, and looked back at her, then ran away. She got the sense it was just curious.

I think wolves are mostly just curious about us, in a cautious way.
I think there are places I can go to in Ontario to see wolves. They have set up a site.

This is definitely doable, as a day trip. Now I just need a friend with a car who wants to go.
