The couple worked hard to free her. They refused to give up no matter how long and how hard it was. You are going to cry when you see her shell finally moving and you realize that they have done it. They got to watch her return to the ocean and swim away.
They really did save her life. She was wedged in the rocks and the tide was coming it. She would have drowned, If by chance she survive the tide, she would have died of dehydration and lack of food. I can't believe how hard they worked to free the turtle. They were amazing. Every egg she lays in the future and every hatchling that makes it to the sea, is because they would not give up until she was free.

Calgary Zoo has just taken on a polar bear from a Quebec zoo. The zoo is French speaking, so the polar bear does not know English.
Calgary Zoo wants the bear to feel at home and settle in comfortably. To help him, the zoo has hired a French translator, until he learns English

https://www.cp24.com/news/canada/2026/03...e-at-home/

The bear is used to hearing French spoken and he is used to zoo keepers giving directions in French.
I think is is showing real concern for the animal that they have accommodated his language needs.
How fitting that in Canada, a bilingual country, even our polar bears are biingual.

When Jourdyn's dog went missing 11 years ago she was devastated. She never forgot him and she kept up the information on his microchip.
After all these years she got a call that he was found. One look at his picture and she knew it was him.
She went with her family to bring him home. He is like his old self and acting like a puppy again.

Microchips work. She never gave up hope and she got her dog back. She lost a lot of years with him, but she gets to be with him for his senior years.
He gets to be back home with the person he loves. It is a happy ending for all. I hope they still have many good years together.

The Taiga is a Bed and Breakfast on a 10 acre property, run by army veteran, Jennifer McCabe. It has 3 suites, a hot tub, sauna and trails. It is also an animal sanctuary. Each animal resident has its own story about how and why it was rescued. Guests are encouraged to interact with the animals and feed them from the garden.
In future, McCabe wants to host events and expand the garden and make The Taiga a place of healing for humans and animals.
We definitely need places like this. For someone who loves animals, it would be the right place to take a break and refresh themselves.
I love her plans for the future. We all need somewhere like this sometimes. The animals certainly need the place.

The last Rhino in Uganda was killed by poachers in 1983. Two Southern White Rhinos were returned this week, the first of eight that are returning to Kidepo Valley National Park. The goal is to restore the species to the area.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn4g41n9j4lo

It is a challenge to restore a species to an area, especially one that is still being poached.
It should help that they will be in a secure area and poachers are being prosecuted.
Now we just have to hope for the future. These Rhinos could restore the species to the country, while helping to ensure survival of the species globally.
I think they can do it!

How would a small kitten get inside a care and then inside a headlight. I am sure there is a story there, but we will never know it.
At least the cat is in a happy home and doing well.
