Teddy, a ten year old dog was the oldest dog at the shelter. His chances of adoption didn't look good. One of the regular volunteers took him home for a sleepover.
She gave Teddy a fun filled weekend and she learned a lot about him. Teddy is good with dogs and cats, but he doesn't like to be left alone. Then she extended his stay with her.
Because she learned so much about Teddy he was adopted into the perfect home, for him. He is with an older couple and their cat.
Temporary fostering seems like a good idea. Animals end up at shelters and know one really knows them. You just can't learn much about an animal in a cage at a shelter. It is only when a dog is in a home that you can judge how they respond to home life. It certainly worked for Teddy.

Raven's Rescue is asking for information about who dumped the puppies. They should be charged.
They could have taken the puppies to any number of places. They could even have dumped them somewhere safe and warm.
What they did gave two of the three puppies a miserable death. It is amazing that Comet made it. She is so cute and so is her sister who died.
There is never a good reason to dump puppies like this. I hope they catch them.
I hope Comet ends up with the best forever home ever.

Someone dumped a box of puppies outside in the cold and wet on a canal tow path. There were three little dachshund puppies, but one was already dead.
Raven's rescue took them in and cared for them. Sadly a second puppy didn't make it. That left Comet, the last survivor, to carry on alone.
She went into foster care and had a wonderful Christmas with her new people.

Medina, a member of One Tail at a Time animal rescue was driving along when she noticed a face peaking out of a hollow tree. It was a very scared black dog.
She returned many times over the next months to leave food and water and to try and coax the dog out. Finally with the help of Chicago Animal Care and Control they were able to get the dog, Maya, into a carrier. She had to be held for three days as a stray and them Medina took her home as a foster. Maya was shy and uncertain at first, but she soon settled in. Then Medina's mother fell in love with Maya and adopted her. Now every one is happy and Maya is part of Medina's family.

That is a beautiful story. From a lost, frightened dog, hiding in a tree, Maya has become a beloved family member in her rescuers family.
All it took was months of patient coaxing. It was worth the time, to get such a happy ending.

A gathering of Golden Retrievers was held in Buenos Aires on Dec 8, 2025. They wanted to beat the world record of 1,685 Golden Retrievers.
At last count there were 2,397 Golden Retrievers in one place. I think they broke the record.

Can you imagine 2,397 Golden Retrievers in one place. That many good natured, happy go lucky dogs at once would be overwhelming.
That is almost too much love at once. The dogs all look happy and relaxed and so do the people.
It would be a once in a life time experience, until they try and break the record again.
