Hundreds of animals rescued from fur factory farm
#1
The Human Society of the United States was called in to help when the owner of the Grand River Fur Exchange died.
Over 300 animals were found in horrific conditions. There were foxes, Raccoons, wolf/dog hybrids, Skunks, Opossums and Coyotes.
Animals were injured, starving, dehydrated and some were already  dead. Some animals were humanely euthanized during the rescue. In the end 330 animals were successfully rescued and placed in suitable sanctuaries.

This is what happens when an industry is poorly regulated. There is no oversite to ensure humane treatment of the animals.
The animals are being raised to be killed for their fur and there is no regulation to ensure they are killed humanely.
Their fur is being used for fashion and decorations.
No animals should be forced to endure that kind of suffering and especially not for such trivial reasons.
It is time that we stop using animals like this. We have no right to inflict such pain and misery on another being.

When it is so bad that they have to euthanize some of the animals they are rescuing, you know it is unacceptable.
No one should be allowed to treat an animal that way.

Are there any plans for the USA to legislate on this issue? I fear that with the current president there, profits go before welfare of animals....but one can hope for change.

I think for the next four years, things will get much worse.
I wouldn't count on animals getting a good deal. It is more likely that animal protections will be removed.
I expect that endangered species will be available for hunting. The presidents son likes to kill endangered species.

The rest of the world is going to have to do so much better so that we set a good example and we give animals a chance in our countries.
