Iguanas are from the Americas. How did they end up thousands of miles away in Fiji.
After much study, it has been determined that they floated to Fiji on vegetation. If a bad storm up rooted a tree, Iguanas could have traveled across the ocean on that tree. They are capable of going without food and water for a while.

Reptiles are tough, especially Iguanas. They could hang on to a tree uprooted by a storm and cling to it as it travels across the ocean.
They would also adapt very quickly when they finally hit land. Where ever they are, that is where they will thrive.
It is interesting that they can trace the DNA and determine how long ago this happened.
