Bitsy, the stray cat was brought in to Furget Me Not Animal Rescue in Edmonton.
She was taken to a vet and they believe that the extra limbs were part of a sibling that died before birth and was absorbed by Bitsy.
It is a rare occurrence. Three of the legs were non functional and causing Bitsy a lot of discomfort. It was hard for her to do anything. She could not even lie down comfortably.
The non functional parts were removed and she in now an active cat. She can lie down and rest like a normal cat.
She has adapted to having three functional legs. She has also been adopted.

That is quite a change for Bitsy. She went from being a 6 legged cat who could barely function, to being a health, happy 3 legged cat in her own forever home.
She is lucky she was found by the right people.
