A Giraffe is still missing in Texas

How do you lose a giraffe and how can you not find it after two weeks?
And while we are asking, why would you have one giraffe in Texas.

I can understand a large facility like a zoo having a herd of giraffes. Why would one person have one giraffe and house her so that she could escape.
Who knows if they will ever find her. Maybe she will end up with all the other escaped African animals.
