Meet Takoda, Toronto Zoo's new Bald Eagle

Takoda was found up in Northern Ontario, near a gold mine. The workers became concern when he hung around and did not move on like a normal wild eagle.
He is uninjured, but he has become habituated to humans. That puts him at risk, so he is not safe in the wild. Instead, he can be an animal ambassador at the zoo
and teach people about eagles.

I look forward to meeting Takoda at the zoo in the future.
It would be better if Takoda could have lived out his life in the wild. Sadly people have somehow interfered with that.
People think they are doing a good thing by feeding animals and making friends with them, but they are doing them no favour.
A wild eagle that hangs around people is very much at risk. The only way to be sure of his safety, was to bring Takoda in from the wild, a place where he no longer fits in. Welcome Takoda.
