15 Elephants found dead in Kenya
#1
Fifteen elephants were found dead in a Kenyan National Park. They were mostly mothers and babies.
The bodies are being tested for poison. The park is being tested for possible toxins or contaminants.

It is a little suspicious when a number of animals die at once. It would be terrible if they were poisoned.
Who  would do such a thing. If the cause is something in the park, they need to find the source before more elephants are lost.

They have done tests and the elephants died of cyanide poisoning, The cyanide came from contaminated tomatoes from local farms.
The tomatoes would have been contaminated to stop the elephants from eating the farms produce. Cyanide is very dangerous and could kill other animals, including livestock.

Using poison is very dangerous. It doesn't just kill the target animals. They shouldn't be killing elephants anyhow.
Also they poisoned a plant that humans eat. That could have a whole different set of results. Would those tomatoes be safe for humans to eat.

Yes there is a conflict between farmers and elephants. This conflict needs to be resolved. Poisoning elephants is not the solution.
