Rescuing animals after flooding in Nepal

There is not a lot of news coming out of the area, but we know that animal  rescue groups are there.

I was glad to see the animal rescue operations in Nepal. I also saw a rescued white dog being carried in one of those excavator vehicles, being reunited with a woman who was overjoyed to see  (him?/her?)
The dog looked a bit numb, though appeared clean and uninjured, but snuggled into her neck as she carried him away.

I learned the other day that dogs are considered sacred animals in Nepal. I didn't know that before.

I am sure there are many animals of all species who have died, but there are also numbers being rescued.

I didn't know dogs were sacred in Nepal.
I am glad to hear it. They will do everything they can to help the dogs.

It is a tough situation for all animals. There was no warning. The flood happened so quickly that dogs who would have saved their families by warning them, just didn't have time. They are still finding survivors so we can hope that there are still dogs who will be rescued.
