Penguin follows man into jewelry store

A man stepped into a jewelry store to pick up his watch and discovered that a penguin had followed him in.
It was a young penguin from a nearby colony. The local penguin rescue was called and they came and picked the little bird up and returned him to the local colony of penguins. The Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony gets calls to pick up penguins from all over.

It seems penguin chicks like to wander. That is not surprising. What I want to know is how you don't notice a penguin following you.
Even if it was quiet, it should have been easy to spot. Penguins are noticeable. It was such a cute little bird. I am glad it could be rescued and returned to where it belonged.
