Close-up pictures of Orcas

A wildlife photographer got some incredible close-up pictures of Orcas.

Up close they look so different. The eyes look blue, up close. They look smooth and shiny from a distance. Up close they look rough or at least textured.
I wonder what they feel like. Are they soft and textured or are they rough and textured. I would never have thought about it, if I hadn't seen the close up pictures.
I wonder what other animals look different if you see them up close.
