Scientist have been studying the effects of beaver dams on wildfires. Areas that have beaver dams have some protection from wildfires. The beavers create an area where the soil is saturated. The fires don't burn through areas like that. They burn through dry areas.

We are experiencing some serious wildfires all over North America. The more northern areas of Canadian provinces have been badly burned.
The Beaver were almost wiped out and now we are suffering the consequences. If we want to stop the wildfires we need to return the Beaver to as many areas as possible. It will take time and there will be more fires, but in the end the situation will improve.
If we want stable, healthy ecosystems, we need to undo all the damage we have done.
The beaver is a good start.
