That's so true. Gladice Joy the hamster was a real nice little creature. Yes, these pets really need us and also are often appreciative in how they treat us, too.

I think there is more of a bond when we know our pet needs us and they are happy that someone wants them.

All my rescues have been sweeties. I have bought pets because I didn't think they would survive at the pet store. I have never regretted adopting a pet.
