Saving the Guthega Skink
#1
A special gated community was set up for the Guthega Skinks in the Alpine National Park in Victoria, Australia.
Four skinks were released and then 7 more skinks joined them. Now the eleven are about to become 13. A female called
Omeo is pregnant and due to give birth in March.

Skinks are vulnerable and fragile. If this program works to increase their numbers it will be great. Maybe some day they will be restored to their
whole natural habitat.
Skinks are my favourite lizard so I am really hoping these skinks do well and multiply.
