Dog's wheelchair stolen

Smidgen, a 10 year old Chihuahua, is partly paralyzed. She uses a special wheelchair to get around.
Someone stole her wheelchair off the the veranda. Her person put the story up on social media in hopes of getting the chair back.
The chair isn't back, but someone is fundraising to get Smidgen a new chair.

It is wonderful that the community has rallied to help Smidgen. She will have a new wheelchair soon.
What I don't understand is the type of person who would steal a dog's wheelchair in the first place.
This story has the worst of humanity and the best of humanity. I hope the best wins.
