Bringing back the Bison...to Romania
#1
The European Bison have been absent for a long time. Romania lost its Bison in the 18th century.
A small herd has been returned to the southern Carpathian mountains. They are returning to the land and they are returning to the people.
A big rewilding project like this needs the involvement of the people who will live with the results.

This an incredible project. It can bring back so much that was lost to the ecosystem. Bison are a species that transform things.
They create biodiversity and stabilize the landscape.
The return of Bison to North American has done so much for the land and the people. I think the European Bison will do the same for Romania.
