Strychnine is a neurotoxin. It is a nasty poison, that causes a horrible death in any animal exposed to it.
Alberta and Saskatchewan want to use it on gophers. It is a brutal way to kill a gopher. It also kills non target animals.
Once it is out there it kills anything. That means endangered species. That means household pets. It can also mean any human that encounters it.

They are determined to do it, even though there are other environmentally friendly ways of dealing with gophers.
I thought we had grown past the stage of deliberately poisoning our environment. Will we never learn.
It will take years to clean up after this mess.
Yes, I have seen an animal die of Strychnine poisoning. It was a pet cat and it was horrible.
Why would we even think about doing this?
