We know animals are intelligent. Once in a while stories come along that show us they are much smarter than we realize.

I knew about the octopus. He only left his tank when the people had gone home for the day and he reclosed the other tank after he had finished feeding and returned to his own tank. I know people who are not that smart.
We all know crows are smart. I am pretty sure a crow could beat me at chess.
I know parrots have learned to use Alexa and Siri to order food and play music.
Humans spend thousands of dollars developing garbage cans to keep animals out and they figure out the locking mechanism in minutes. 
The longer they hang around us the more they learn. Who knows what else they will learn to do.
