Elderly one eyed wolf keeps on going
#1
Wolf 907F is an eleven year old female in Yellowstone National Park. She is pack leader and she is still having cubs. This year she is nursing her tenth litter.
She is an experienced wolf who knows her territory. She lets the younger wolves hunt, but she is still the leader and she eats what she wants.
She lost her sight in one eye many years ago, but it hasn't slowed her down. She has lived much older than most wolves in the area and is still going strong.

You would think after all these years they could give her a better name than 907F.
She would be descended from the wolves that were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in 1995.
They have made the park stronger and they have thrived. Wolves were part of the park ecosystem before they were wiped out.
Returning them to the park has been one of the most successful conservation projects undertaken. Wolf 907F is one of the most successful wolves the park has had since their return. I hope her offspring are as successful.
