One of the chuckwagon race horses was injured at the Calgary Stampede. The horse was humanely euthanized.
This year it was one horse and last year it was three horses. In the last 4 decades it has been 110 animals, 79 of them horses who have died in the Calgary Stampede. It is a continuous loss of life, year after year.

Every year going into the Stampede, they know there will be animal deaths. Something needs to be changed to make it safer for the animals.
Maybe the time for rodeos is over. It certainly isn't good that they accept animal deaths as a part of the show. No event like this should be allowed to go on unchanged if animal deaths are part of the show.
If every year a member of the audience was killed we would see changes soon enough.
