Woodside Wildlife Rescue takes in many orphaned baby  raccoons each year.
They have to bottle feed some of them because they are so you. The little raccoons
Do not know how to be raccoons and survive in the wild. The rescue puts the babies through
Raccoon Bootcamp, vigorous training on how to be a raccoon. They teach them what to eat and how to find it.
They teach them safety lessons. When the raccoons graduate and are released to the wild, they know how to survive.

What they are doing is so important. Keeping them alive and helping them to grow is essential, but what happens after that.
If they are going to survive and have a normal life, they need to know what is normal for a raccoon. It is a big job to teach an animal to be wild, but the results are worth it.
