Toronto's Coyote conflict
#1
There are coyotes in some parts of Toronto, so of course there are conflicts with humans.
The city has put up signs in the real coyote hot spot. The signs are controversial because they call the coyotes our neighbours.
Some people have been injured and some dogs have been killed. The city is trying to study the situation and find solutions.
Right now people are in two camps, the coyotes were here first or we should cull the coyotes.

The controversial signs are trying to teach people how to deal with coyote encounters.
One problem is people who put out food for the coyotes. They get used to being fed and they get used to humans.
Neither is good. People also go out with their dog, alone, at a time when the coyotes would be out.
Maybe walk the dog at a different time of maybe dog walkers could go out in groups.

We can learn to live with coyotes. We live with raccoons and squirrels and they are everywhere.
There are not that many coyotes, they are not everywhere and they are only out at certain times of the day.
We need to change because the coyotes won't. They are just doing what is normal to them.
