Man walking his dog hit by a car

Sadly this Friday, a man walking his dog along the lake, was hit by a car. The man was hurt, but the dog was killed.

We don't know details yet. I do know I was near that area at the time, so the sirens I heard were probably from the accident. 
I feel sad for the guy. He was just walking his dog and now his dog is gone. The visibility was good, but maybe there was glare from the ice and snow.
