Someone released some pet rabbits in a north Edmonton neighbourhood. In a couple of years their numbers are increasing.
The city does not want to take responsibility. Animal Services doesn't want to be involved. None of the rescues will help.
The people in the neighbourhood are working to catch and rehome the rabbits. They don't want the rabbits to suffer and they don't want the
rabbits to destroy the area.

Rabbits can multiply very fast. Hungry rabbits can destroy all local vegetation.
What ever happens, they can't ignore the problem. It will just get worse and worse.
The city really should be helping.
It is known who released the rabbits and they can be charged for what they did.
It is illegal to release a pet in Alberta.
It is coming up on breeding season. I hope they are able to catch the rabbits soon, before their is a population explosion.
