Dog dies after visit to a tulip festival

Bobby, a three year old Springer Spaniel went with his owner to a tulip festival. He was kept on a leash as the sign suggested, but there were no other warnings.
Three hours after the visit, Bobby was dead.

I knew tulips were toxic to dogs, but I did not know they were that toxic.
I thought they actually had to eat a tulip. Bobby was exposed to the flowers, but nothing more.
I am glad the tulip festival put up a better sign. I think if you have a dog, it is not worth the risk to take your dog to a festival or anywhere that has a lot of tulips.
