Fat Marmot Week

Congratulations Dawn, winner of the first Fat Marmot Week. She weighed in at 6 kilos, an incredible weight for a Marmot.
Fat Marmot Week was started as a fundraiser to help keep Marmot research going. They were able to raise $100,000.00.
That is pretty good fundraising.

If that is what it takes to keep research going then let's hear it for fat Marmots.
These contest are fun, but they also serve a good purpose. They raise awareness and they raise funds.
Both are needed. As for fat Marmots, they need the fat to make it through the winter. So good luck Dawn, see you in the spring as a much thinner marmot.
