Disqualified pumpkin wins with polar bear

[Catherine]

It is pumpkin time in Ontario so there are pumpkin contests. A pumpkin that should have won was found to have a small soft spot. That is a disqualifier.
So the pumpkin as shipped to the polar bear sanctuary in Cochrane Ontario. As far as Ganuk the Polar bear is concerned, the 1700 pound pumpkin is a total winner.

I prefer my pumpkin cooked, but I agree with Ganuk that pumpkin is great.
Maybe I should try chewing on it raw. The bear is certainly loving it. When Henry gets his turn, he will have a great time too.

The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat is a special place. It provides care for Polar Bears that need our help.

It is also a place where people can go and see Polar Bears. It creates awareness of their needs.
We are more likely to care about something we know about. With climate change effects in the Arctic, the Polar Bears are going to need our help.
