We don't take it personally when people can't reply right away. Everyone has different computer issues. Sometimes people can't get to a computer or their internet is uncertain. 
I started out using the library computers. It was only 8 years ago that I got my own computer. Now I have a computer and a phone that can use the internet. However if the power goes out I would lose my internet capability because my modem wouldn't work.

I suppose the sequel to the story is in the mind of the reader.  We see that there is a future for the cats and we want to tink about the possibilities. Maybe it is better that it isn't actually written down.
