The intent behind that County (government) decison is so save money of course. At the cost of many animals' lives. Meanwhile governments all over the world waste tremendous amounts of money on special perks and expensive lunches, private jets....you name it.
I am glad to see the shelter has a GoFundMe account. It is quite amazing how much money a thing like that can raise for a valid cause, in a very short space of time. Sometimes in days!
I hope that private donations will rescue these animals and keep the shelter open long enough for the managers to be able to implement the plans they have.
This is where any lottery winner, anywhere in the world, could solve that in hours. To someone who has fifty million, $70,000 is nothing.
