A beautiful day with Barrie

Today is Family Day. Yes it is actually a real holiday(and I do get paid for it)  in Ontario.
It was raining an miserable so I spend the day at home with my animals making them happy.
I did dinner out with "family" later.

I gave Barrie some very special treatment. He had a full soak and then a mani pedi lizard style. Then I gave him a real massage. 
I was rubbing his back and shoulders and he tipped his head back, rolled his eyes up and had him mouth open with his tongue out. He looked silly and he was really enjoying it. He was so mellow he was willing to lie against my shoulder for the first time. 

Then he settled in to watch some shows with me.




He got himself very comfortable on the chair.







Look at that face. Is that contentment or what.



I think he is smiling.

So I settled in beside him. We may as well both be comfortable.

He is actually comfortable using my foot as a pillow. He is not even eying my toes as a snack.

This is the most physically relaxed we have ever been together.

Then he decided that he wanted to climb up on me.

Barrie has been with me two years and he is really come a long way.

Look at his eyes. They are bright and happy.

Barrie is an older lizard. The people who had him most of his life were never able to keep him well. They hadn't even named him. Now he is in good health and look how happy he is. 

I solved the problem of his continual eye irritations by keeping him on polar fleece blankets. 
He needs a good soak at least once a week to keep his skin healthy.  It is not that hard to do.
If he will sit and watch shows with me it will be even better. He never hogs the remote control and he is willing to sleep through anything I want to watch.
