I know it seemed hopeful and they really did try to save her, but J50 has been declared dead.

The death of J50 is just one more step in the sad decline of the southern Orca population.
I cry for her death.  
But tears are not enough when a whole species is at risk.
There are no words deep enough to express the loss we are facing with the southern population. 
All the effort we put into trying to save J50 needs to be applied to helping her pod. All the feelings we had for the grieving orca who carried her baby 17 dats, needs to be given to the whole pod while they are still alive and can be helped.
