Condor Sanctuary caught in California wildfire
#1
The  California wildfires have done so much damage. I am sure wildlife has perished.
Sadly the California Condor Sanctuary was in the path of the fire and it has been destroyed.

There is a web cam on the nest and the sanctuary. You can see the little guy alive as the fire approaches. They just don't know if he made it.

This article has pictures of the condors. They are amazing birds. They are so big. I have seen on, but I have never seen one in flight. It must be amazing.

This article is more recent. Still no word on the four missing birds. We can only hope they survived.

It is heartbreaking to watch a sanctuary burn like that.
I can't imaging what it was like to watch the web cam and not be able to do anything to help. We just have to hope Iniko is found safe and alive and his parents are safe and alive and able to return to him.
