Blood donor dogs and cats

Apparently there are places doing blood donations this way. Not all dogs would be comfortable with the procedure and not all dogs can physically handle it.
Those dogs that can give blood seem happy to do so. 

With involuntary donations, an animal is kept as a donor and bled regularly and the blood sold. These animals lead miserable lives.

The donor dogs in the voluntary program are happy and willing to help and lead happy fulfilling lives.  As usual, we often forget that it is better when we ask, rather than just take.
